Small Prefab Grate

We offer a variety of grates in a variety of sizes. We always have on our truck and trailer the type pictured above which is for the smaller pre-fab fireplaces. It comes in two sizes, smaller for the prefabs and larger for regular fireplaces. We often see grates that are burned out in the center section. This is caused by leaving ashes piled up around the grate. If the ashes are kept cleaned out the grate will last longer as it is able to cool after every fire burns out. The ashes insulate it and keep it hot for many hours and the metal deteriorates because of the constant heat. The type featured above is made of channel iron offering more cooling surface than standard bar steel. It should last longer if cared for properly.
